CHULA VISTA, Calif. - As the Eastlake Little League All-Stars team prepares for their game against Newark National in Williamsport, Pa. on Sunday, their supporters at home held a fundraiser to help offset costs for going to the Little League World Series.
The league says it costs about $7,000 to get each family to Williamsport.
"Just trying to get the whole city behind our boys out there," said Shane Stroberg, who is with the Eastlake Little League All-Stars. "They've been playing for a month and a half. They've been playing their hearts out and we just want them to know San Diego and Chula Vista is behind them."
On Friday, Eastlake pitcher Grant Holman threw a no-hitter to help lead the team to a 3-0 victory over Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
