CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The Eastlake Little League All-Stars from Chula Vista defeated the all-star team from the Newark National Little League from Newark, Del. 15-3 in South Willamsport, Pa. with a grand slam from Grant Holman.
The game ended after four innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Eastlake began World Series play with a seven-inning 3-0 victory over the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League All-Stars from Grosse Pointe, Mich. on Friday as Grant Holman pitched a no-hitter and Patrick Archer, its No. 9 hitter, singled in the first two runs.
Eastlake will next play Wednesday against the Westport Little League of Westport, Conn., the New England Region champion, which defeated the Eastlake Little League of Sammamish, Wash., the Northwest Region champion, on Sunday.
The team from Tijuana also advanced Sunday, defeating Panama 13-0.
The U.S. Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday and the World Series Championship Game for next Sunday.
