NASHVILLE - Two-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White has reached a deal to settle public intoxication and vandalism charges in Nashville.
Susan Niland, the Nashville district attorney's spokeswoman, said the 26-year-old White, who was born in Carlsbad, appeared in court Wednesday, a day earlier than scheduled, after he and prosecutors agreed to dismiss charges if he completed alcohol treatment, performed 24 hours of community service and paid restitution.
However, the judgment signed in court did not include the alcohol treatment provision. Niland said attorneys have agreed to amend the document Thursday.
White's lawyer didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Police said White pulled a fire alarm in a Nashville hotel at about 2 a.m. on Sept. 16, forcing all guests to evacuate. He then tried to flee and was injured while trying to fight another guest.
