'Fight for LA' gets real in Chargers, Rams scrimmage brawls

(KGTV) - It appears the Los Angeles Chargers' "Fight For LA" slogan has taken on a literal meaning, following an intense scrimmage against the Los Angeles Rams.

A Wednesday scrimmage at the University of California, Irvine, between the two LA teams got intense after Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson received a small post-play shove from Chargers receiver Dontrelle Inman, according to ESPN's Eric Williams.

Video posted on Twitter shows the two teams going at it on the field, with players levying the same tackles you'd see during an official game. Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is seen running into the shuffle, downing Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman.

A total of three fights broke out during the scrimmage.

Rams cornerback E.J. Gaines and Chargers defensive end Chris McCain were thrown out of the scrimmage for continued issues, coaches told ESPN.
