Chargers open 2017 NFL season against Broncos -- but do San Diegans care?

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - NFL football is underway, and while it's bringing plenty of excitement to fans across the nation, the feeling might be different in San Diego tonight and for this season.

The Chargers face the Broncos in Denver on "Monday Night Football" -- as the Los Angeles Chargers.

It's a season-opening game that is sure to leave a bitter taste in the mouths of many San Diegans, as these Chargers still have many of the same players that fans in San Diego cheered for over the years, like quarterback Philip Rivers and tight end Antonio Gates.

But with the team's move to the north, the question for fans remains: Will you still follow the players and this team?

Ahead of tonight's game, Chargers CEO Dean Spanos told ESPN he thanks local fans who are still following the team and said the organization is appreciative of those fans.



So, the Chargers will be on TV tonight …
