Rivers engineers 3 scoring drives to help Chargers down Colts 19-9 on Monday Night Football

Chargers even their record to 3-3

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Chargers played a great game of keepaway while ending the Indianapolis Colts' three-game winning streak.

Philip Rivers engineered three scoring drives of at least 74 yards as the Chargers downed the Colts 19-9, ruining Andrew Luck's first game on Monday Night Football. Rivers helped San Diego control the ball for more than 38 minutes, while the defense kept the Colts out of the end zone.

The Chargers never trailed after Rivers threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to rookie Keenan Allen early in the second quarter. Rivers was 22-33 for 237 yards and no interceptions.

Nick Novak kicked four field goals and Ryan Mathews ran for 102 yards as the Chargers evened their record at 3-3.

The Colts fell to 4-2.
