SAN DIEGO -
What the Port of San Diego touts as the largest sailing rally on the West Coast is set to begin Monday in San Diego Bay.
The 20th annual Baja Ha Ha rally features 200 vessels from as far away as Alaska that will sail 750 miles to Cabo San Lucas for a sport fishing competition, according to the port.
Officials plan to use an America's Cup starter's gun to get the racing under way just off Shelter Island around 10 a.m. The port says the event will be a boost to tenants, which include marinas, marine supply stores and boatyards.
The rally is sponsored by Latitude 38 magazine, a sailing and marine publication based in Northern California.
