Heisman Winner Ready For NFL Run

Reggie Bush Expected To Be No. 1 Pick

POSTED: 10:51 am PST January 12, 2006

Southern California junior running back Reggie Bush announced his intentions to enter the 2006 NFL draft during a Thursday press conference.

Bush is the most highly-touted running back in years and could be selected No. 1 overall by the Houston Texans, who own the top pick in April's draft.

The 2005 Heisman Trophy winner was a main ingredient for the Trojans' success this season, rushing for 1,740 yards and 16 touchdowns while hauling in 37 passes for 478 yards and two scores.

Bush accumulated 2,890 all-purpose yards (493 KOR, 179 PR) this past season. In a loss to Texas in the Rose Bowl, he ran for 82 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and also caught six passes for 95 yards versus the Longhorns.

In addition to winning the Heisman, Bush also took home some other impressive hardware this season.

He was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation's Player of the Year and won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back.
