Pasadena, CA -- (Sports Network) - A Kai Forbath field goal at the start of the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as the UCLA Bruins slipped by the Washington Huskies, 24-23, in Pac-10 Conference play at the Rose Bowl.

The quarterback combination of Kevin Prince and Kevin Craft combined to hit 23-of-31 passes for 371 yards and a pair of touchdowns, along with two interceptions as the Bruins (4-5, 1-5 Pac-10) snapped a five-game slide.

The Huskies (3-6, 2-4), losers of three in a row and five of the last six contest, were led by Jake Locker who converted 23-of-40 for 235 yards and two touchdowns, but he too was picked off two times and sacked twice in the setback.

Prince, who left the game in the second quarter after receiving a helmet-to- helmet hit from Donald Butler, found Cory Harkey with a one-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to put the home team ahead by a 7-0 score.

Locker and Jermaine Kearse combined on a 17-yard TD pass play less than two minutes later, followed by a 30-yard field goal by Erik Folk to give Washington a 10-7 advantage.

Before the first quarter could end, Chane Moline hit the end zone from a yard out to put the Bruins back on top at 14-10.

The only points of the second quarter came courtesy of Folk who knocked through field goals of 20 and 33 yards, providing the Huskies with a narrow 16-14 edge at the break.

Locker and Kearse combined with each other again in the third quarter, this time on a 34-yard TD, giving Washington a 23-14 advantage with just under 12 minutes to play in the period.

From there the contest belonged to UCLA as Craft and Terrence Austin combined on a 29-yard touchdown play and Forbath hit the game-winner from 27 yards away.

Folk had a chance to put Washington back on top in the fourth, but his 38-yard field goal attempt failed to convert.
