Reno, NV -- (Sports Network) - Colin Kaepernick erupted for six total touchdowns, four rushing and two passing, as he and the Nevada Wolf Pack exploded to a 70-45 win over the Idaho Vandals in Western Athletic Conference play at Mackay Stadium.

Kaepernick carried the ball just 15 times for the Wolf Pack (4-3, 3-0 WAC) as he gained a season-high 230 yards on the ground in the team's fourth straight win since dropping three in a row to open the 2009 campaign. Kaepernick also converted 13-of-21 passes for another 178 yards, hitting eight different receivers along the way.

The Vandals (6-2, 3-1), who entered the week as the top team in the WAC standings and riding a five-game win streak, they were paced by quarterback Nathan Enderle who converted 15-of-26 passes for a remarkable 342 yards and four touchdowns, but he was also intercepted once and sacked three times on the road.

Nevada ripped off 61 straight points to begin the game as Kaepernick had touchdown runs of 11 and 61 yards and Vai Taua, who finished with 146 yards, gained 89 of those on a single TD run of his own.

In the second quarter Idaho cut the deficit to just seven points as Maurice Shaw and Deonte Jackson put together touchdown runs of 73 and 59 yards, respectively. The Vandals added another 10 points before the first half could end, thanks to another 73-yard TD run by Shaw and a 54-yard field goal by Trey Farquhar in the final minute of action, but in between Taua registered yet another TD for the home team on a one-yard run.

Ahead by a score of 28-24 heading into the second half, the Pack struck quickly as Kaepernick logged touchdown runs of 35 and 75 yards in a span of less than four minutes, pushing the advantage to a commanding 42-24.

Refusing to go away quietly, Idaho's Max Komar caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Enderle and also had a 20-yard score just before the end of the third frame. However, splitting his two visits to the end zone was a 25-yard TD run by Nevada's Chris Wellington, and still the Pack led by a score of only 49-38.

The aerial attack got back on track for Nevada in the fourth quarter as Kaepernick's arm led to touchdowns of 44 and nine yards to Virgil Green and Luke Lippincott, respectively. Also getting in on the act for Nevada, which generated 484 yards rushing on 53 attempts, was Lampford Mark who found the end zone on a 12-yard run.

The final gasp for the Vandals was a 14-yard TD catch by Komar from backup Brian Reader. Komar, who entered the game as one of the leading receivers in the conference, caught a game-high 10 balls for 136 yards, while Shaw turned his five catches into 183 yards for the visitors.

Nevada, which entered the week as the top-rushing offense in the nation with an average of 292.8 ypg, allowed the Vandals just 90 yards on the ground.
