SAN DIEGO - An Oceanside woman has become the oldest person to toss the ceremonial first pitch at a Padres game.
Agnes McKee is 105 years old. In honor of her birthday, which was last Wednesday, McKee was chosen to throw the first pitch before the Padres played the Mets.
"It's very exciting," she said before heading onto the field. "I'm very honored to be allowed to do that. I have no idea what's going to happen I hope everything goes well. "
Fans cheered as she tossed the ball. She wore a special jersey with her last name and the number 105.
When asked what her secret to a long life is, she replied, "Everybody asks me that and I have no secrets. I have no idea how I attained or got to be 105 years."
She later said it may have something to do with genes from her mother's side of the family.
