San Diego's kick-off to summer, the San Diego County Fair runs Saturday, June 14 through Sunday, July 6 (the Fair will be closed two Mondays, June 16 and 23). The 2008 theme, "Summer of Sports", celebrates a wide variety of sports at all levels, from youth to professional. The 2008 San Diego County Fair brings back all of your Fair favorites – thrill rides, animals, and every kind of fried food on-a-stick that you can imagine – along with new offerings including the World's Biggest Barbeque "The Outlaw Grill", the new pendulum ride "Speed" which generates an acceleration of 3.5 Gs, and a variety of Grandstand entertainment ranging from country to kids, and gospel to rock – including such artists as Fergie, Dwight Yoakam, B.B. King, Boston and Sugarland.
