CINCINNATI -- Storms that rolled through Ohio, Kentucky and southeast Indiana left downed power lines, damage and flooding in their wake, Cincinnati television station WLWT reported. The National Weather Service in Wilmington said it will be investigating damage in Clermont, Brown and Highland counties on Wednesday to determine if tornadoes were responsible for any damage there.A storm near Dry Ridge leveled a barn, while two were knocked down on Bannister Road. Brown County officials reported three barns destroyed near Mount Orab and a house moved off its foundation.
The NWS said it appears that straight-line winds are to blame for the Dry Ridge-area damage. The main street in the village of Bethel was closed about midnight because of fallen trees. Part of the metal roof was ripped off a produce and gardening supply store, and a plate glass window burst at a gas station.Nearby, a storm punched a hole in a supermarket wall, downed trees all around a home without damaging the home and toppled a Big Boy statue from its stand.Flood warnings have been issued for: Great Miami River at Miamitown -- forecast to crest 3.7 feet above flood stage. Little Miami River at Kings Mills -- forecast to crest 3.8 feet above flood stage. Great Miami River below Miamisburg -- forecast to crest 2.8 feet above flood stage. All rivers are expected to drop below flood stage in the next day or so.
