Couple Awaits Birth Of Their 'Miracle Baby'

"Just meeting her, just that first moment; I just cannot wait… I cannot wait," said Stephanie Boes.

And who can blame her?

In six short weeks, Stephanie is going to be a mother for the first time.

"We've got the changing table and the crib," she said.

There is also the cutest collection of pink you've ever seen.

"She'll be my little Barbie!" Stephanie said.

To many, the birth of a baby is always amazing.

"Just the way my whole body is changing," said Stephanie.

But for Stephanie and her husband, Austin, this baby is truly a miracle.

Last November, after more than 15 years of trying to conceive, the former high school sweethearts had stopped hoping for a baby.

10News was there when Stephanie's latest attempt at fertility treatment ended in another negative pregnancy test.

It was another huge disappointment, and she finally gave up.

"I'm just done with the medication… done with the medications… game over," she said then.

However, 3 months later, with the encouragement of fertility specialist Dr. Samuel Wood, Stephanie and Austin found the strength to give it one more try, because there was no apparent reason Stephanie could not conceive.

Wood said, "They should have a family of five or six by now."

Wood decided to pull out all the stops and put together an entirely new protocol for Stephanie using an experimental method to make sure embryos would successfully implant in her uterus.

Two weeks later, Stephanie could not believe the news -- she was pregnant!

Prepared for disappointment, Stephanie was too numb to respond.

"It's just a great shock," she told 10News that day. "But, I'm still so hesitant."

But 7 months later, it's full steam ahead for this mother-to-be.

"We've got a little girl in here… We found out it's a girl," said Austin.

When Stephanie is organizing the nursery, she practices her baby-rocking skills.

She waits for the day she could rock her little girl for real.

The Boes won't have to wait long as they are expecting their little bundle of joy early in February.

They have chosen a name for the baby girl, but are not telling anyone until she is born.
