Sunshine Village provides skiers and boarders with a 12-lift system featuring seven modern quad chairs (the most in the Canadian Rockies). The first ride takes you up five miles to the base area. The POMA high-speed quad chairlift allows a faster ride, higher capacity, greater height on the mountain, and improved access to the runs leading to the Continental Divide. The Sunshine Inn is the only one of its kind in Banff National Park, is accessible by gondola and has 84 rooms. The hotel is located right in the middle of the ski area at an elevation of 7,200 feet. In addition to offering a pristine wilderness setting, overnight guests also have the opportunity to set first tracks in the fresh powder. The renovation project involved the construction of a new lobby area and the expansion of the Chimney Corner Bar & Grill. Large panoramic windows now provide spectacular views of Goat's Eye Mountain from both the lobby and Chimney Corner Lounge, and the outdoor BBQ deck area now features a heated floor pad. Located on the ground floor, the new Java Lift serves Starbucks coffee and offers a small kiosk for snacks.
