Brian Rolstad Suspected In Attack Of Wife In Eastlake Home

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- A South Bay man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of trying to stab his wife to death in their home while two of the victim's three children were in the residence.The domestic assault in the 1300 block of Granite Springs Drive in the Eastlake neighborhood of Chula Vista was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, police spokesman Bernard Gonzales said.Officers arrived to find the assailant gone and the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, most of them to her upper body, according to Gonzales. Medics took her to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Investigators identified the woman's husband, 28-year-old Brian Rolstad, as the suspected attacker and were on the lookout for him until shortly before 7 a.m., when an officer found him sitting in his parked car on Center Street, next to Chula Vista police headquarters.Rolstad was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, then taken to an emergency room for treatment of a possible overdose of some type of narcotic, the spokesman said.Both the victim and the suspect were expected to survive, according to Gonzales. The woman's children were taken into protective custody.
