Earthquake Reported In Baja California Area

A magnitude-4.0 earthquake struck Monday in Baja California, but no injuries or damage were immediately reported in the San Diego area.

The earthquake was recorded at 11:27 a.m. and was centered about 10 miles west of Mexicali and 80 miles east of Tijuana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

San Diego County sheriff's dispatchers and a San Diego police official said they had not received any reports of injuries or damage due to the tremor.
