Electrical Fire Quickly Put Out In Strip Mall

Space Did Not Have A Tenant

POSTED: 4:10 am PST November 2, 2009

San Diego firefighters Sunday extinguished a small electrical fire in a vacant section of a commercial building in Grantville, a dispatcher said.

The blaze was reported just before 10 a.m. in a strip mall on Friars and Mission Gorge roads that's anchored by a Petco store, said the dispatcher with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The dispatcher said the fire was in the overhead electrical system of a space that doesn't have a tenant, and no one was hurt.
