Motorcyclist Killed In Head-On Crash Near Pala

PALA, Calif. -- A motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a head-on collision with a truck near the San Diego-Riverside county line, authorities said.The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on Pala-Temecula Road just south of Rancho Heights Road, just within San Diego County, according to the California Highway Patrol.The motorcyclist was taken to Great Oak High School in Temecula to meet a medical helicopter, but died before he could be flown away, said Capt. Nick Schuler of Cal Fire.
The driver of the truck did not need hospitalization, Schuler said.Pala-Temecula Road, a major route to the Pechanga Casino, was closed for several hours after the crash, according to the CHP.
