Police Suspect The Shooting Was Drug-Related

SAN DIEGO -- A 49-year-old man is behind bars Thursday on suspicion of shooting a man to death in Lincoln Park last weekend over drugs, police said.James Turner was arrested late Wednesday afternoon in connection with the death of Jaime Nicasio, 34, in the 5000 block of Pelusa Street Sunday evening, according to San Diego police homicide Lt. Kevin Rooney. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of one count of murder and an unrelated no-bail warrant.The motive for Sunday's shooting was drug-related, Rooney said.
Turner was arrested without incident around 5:50 p.m. after he left a motel room on Hotel Circle North. Rooney said the vehicle believed to have been used as getaway car in the slaying was found in the motel's parking lot earlier in the day.
