A stubble-faced gunman with a nylon stocking pulled over his face robbed a Mission Valley bank Wednesday, San Diego Police Department reported.

The thief, who appeared to be in his 40s or early 50s, pulled a gun on tellers at the Citibank branch office in the 5600 block of Mission Center Road and demanded cash about 9:40 a.m.

The employees handed over an undetermined amount of currency, and the bandit ordered them to lie on the floor before he fled on foot toward Friars Road, SDPD Sgt. Kerry Tom said.

The victims said the robber had a prominent nose and short white whiskers, and was wearing dark pants, a light-colored shirt and a blue baseball cap, Tom said.
