Gunman Robs Hillcrest Sandwich Shop
Employees Comply, No One Hurt

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego police searched Wednesday for a man who robbed a sandwich shop at gunpoint in the Hillcrest area.The robbery at Subway Restaurant, 1252 University Ave., was reported at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Sgt. Bob Dare.A robber walked into the business, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash, Dare said, adding that the employees complied and no one was hurt.
The robber fled in a dark blue car driven by someone else, according to Dare.The robber is Hispanic, in his 20s, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, of medium build, last seen wearing a light blue hooded puffy ski jacket and dark pants, police said.
