SAN DIEGO -- Authorities Tuesday said a Linda Vista man suspected of attacking a neighbor in his home, for unknown reasons, and stabbing him about a dozen times as the man lay in bed was arrested Tuesday.Chad Duane Long, 30, showed up at 48-year-old Richard Page's apartment in the 6400 block of Quillan Street shortly before 3 a.m. and asked Page's roommate if he could use the restroom, according to the San Diego Police Department. The housemate let him in and Long allegedly went to the Page's bedroom and stabbed him repeatedly in the chest and back before fleeing, SDPD Sgt. Bob Dare said.
Medics took Page to a hospital for treatment of serious but apparently non-life-threatening wounds. The victim identified Long as the attacker and told police he had no idea why the younger man would want to hurt him.Long was arrested at a convenience store on Friars Road Tuesday afternoon after he was spotted at a nearby shopping mall.
