Woman who murdered Ex-BF to be sentenced

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A woman who stabbed her ex-boyfriend to death in National City days after they broke up is scheduled to be sentenced Friday at the South Bay Courthouse.

Miranda Mae Gallegos, 36, was convicted of first-degree murder for the April 1, 2012, murder of 25-year-old Scott Eugene Humbert, who died of a stab wound to the chest.

Deputy District Attorney Ted Minahan said the fatal assault happened at the home of the victim's mother shortly before 8 p.m. Gallegos was arrested about 12:30 the next morning at a Holiday Inn on East Plaza Boulevard.

Gallegos faces 27 years to life in prison.
