Woman sexually assaulted in University Heights

SAN DIEGO - A woman reportedly awoke to find a man sexually assaulting her while she was sleeping in her bedroom early Sunday morning in the University Heights neighborhood.

The assault occurred at a residence in the area of Louisiana Street and Meade Avenue at about 2:45 a.m. According to San Diego police, the woman awoke to find the man attempting to sexually assault her. When she screamed, he ran out.

He was described as a light-skinned African American or Hispanic in his 20s, about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 with a thin build and buzzed short dark hair. He was wearing jeans and black-colored nylon type jacket.

He may have fled on a bike.
