A woman had to be rescued from Blacks Beach Tuesday night when the tide came in and she was unable to climb up the trails.
The woman was with a group of friends and they were trying to walk from La Jolla to the Torrey Pines parking lot via the beach. It was dark and the tide came in, trapping them on the beach.
Some in the group were able to hike up the trail to the top. But the one woman could not make it because of a health condition.
They called for help and a rescue helicopter picked her up and brought her to the Torrey Pines Gliderport to a waiting ambulance.
Paramedics took her to a hospital. Her condition is unknown.
