SAN DIEGO - A woman injured herself Monday as she tried to re-enter her runaway SUV at a Carmel Valley gas station, San Diego police reported.
The motorist parked her 2013 Ford Explorer at the Arco station in the 3170 Carmel Valley Road shortly after 9 a.m. and got out without engaging her parking brake, according to San Diego police.
Seeing the vehicle start to roll away, the woman tried to get back in but fell, police said.
Police said the woman suffered scrapes and scratches, but was able to get back into her vehicle and drive away.
SDPD Det. Gary Hassen said a previous report that the woman was run over by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries was untrue.
