Sheriff Deputies received a call at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday of a home invasion in the 200 block of Dahlia Avenue.

According to a deputy on scene, a man, his wife, their roommate and a small child were at home in their apartment when someone knocked at the front door.

As the door was answered, three people - two males and one female wearing skull masks, forced their way into the residence armed with a handgun and a knife.

The husband, wife and roommate got into a violent fight with the armed intruders and the wife was stabbed twice in the back.

The three suspects fled the scene on foot, but left behind both the gun and the knife.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the apartment complex but were unable to find the three suspects.

The injured woman was transported by paramedics to UCSD Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.

The robbers made off with a laptop computer, San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Maria Wood said.

According to Deputies, the suspects are only described as Hispanic.
