SAN DIEGO - A 70-year-old woman was seriously injured when a vehicle hit her as she attempted to cross a street in Grant Hill, San Diego police said Sunday.
The woman was walking across Imperial Avenue at 30th Street when she was struck by the vehicle as its driver was turning right from southbound 30th onto westbound Imperial, according to San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher.
The driver stopped following the crash and was cooperating with investigators, Lasher said. Alcohol was not a factor, he said.
The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious head, ankle and foot injuries.
She is expected to recover, Lasher said.
