SAN DIEGO - A woman reportedly went into labor while a passenger in a pickup truck on the Interstate-805 freeway in the City Heights area early Monday morning.
According to the driver of the truck, the woman went into labor at about 2:15 a.m. on northbound I-805, near Interstate-15. The man told 10News that the woman, who was only 26-weeks pregnant, began having contractions. However, the truck suffered a flat tire, preventing them from driving to the hospital.
California Highway Patrol officers got on scene expecting to deliver the baby girl, but she never arrived.
An ambulance eventually came and transported the woman to the hospital. It was not confirmed if she had delivered the baby.
