Woman crashes car into Linda Vista post office

SAN DIEGO - A woman lost control of her station wagon while driving through Linda Vista Tuesday, sending it crashing into a post office, authorities said, but no injuries were reported.

The vehicle veered off the roadway in the 2100 block of Comstock Street and hit the building shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego police. The impact sent the front of the auto through an exterior wall of the structure, SDPD public affairs Officer Jim Johnson said.

Police said the woman struck a portion of the building that was away from the main entrance.

Though the driver seemed unharmed, medics took her to a hospital for a precautionary evaluation.

10News learned no one was inside the area where the crash happened.

The post office remained open during the cleanup effort.

The cause is under investigation.
