U-T San Diego says homicide detectives are investigating the disappearance of Rebecca Alford after finding suspicious circumstances at her home on Tuesday.

Sheriff's Lt. Larry Nesbit says Alford was last seen at her trailer in a Spring Valley mobile home park on Monday night.

Her pickup truck is missing. A ground and air search of the park and surrounding hills failed to find her.

Alford was scheduled for sentencing in federal court next week. Authorities contend she picked up four illegal immigrants and stashed them at a motel room.

She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport illegal immigrants but details of her plea agreement are sealed.

Alford is described as light-skinned, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 125 pounds.

Her vehicle, a 1999 black Ford F-150 pickup truck, is also missing. The truck has a license plate number of #67216A1.
