Woman assaulted in Marian Bear Park, suspect sought

SAN DIEGO - Police are looking for a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a jogger in Marian Bear Park Thursday morning in north San Diego County.

San Diego police report that the victim was walking through the park, near the intersection with Genesee Avenue, at about 9:30 a.m. when she was approached by a man.

The suspect grabbed the victim and pushed her to the ground, but she kicked him and got away, police said.

The suspect was last seen at the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Lehrer Drive. He is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, 5-foot-9 with a thin build. He had short sandy blonde hair and very blue eyes. He was wearing an orange and blue colored flannel jacket and dark pants.
