The fire was reported at about 8 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of 21st Street.

A San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said the initial call about the fire came from a fire truck that was on its way to another blaze.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. It took them about 20 minutes to put out the fire.

Homeowner Pauline Reynold and her two dogs were able to get out safely.

She believes it was some type of electrical fire that started on her office floor.

"I saw the floor on fire… that's when I called the fire department and grabbed my dogs and ran," she said.

Reynold said she and her dogs will be staying with family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
