SAN DIEGO - Several ceremonies are scheduled Monday in the San Diego region to honor service members who died in the nation's conflicts.

Among them:

-- At 1 p.m., La Vista Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3191 Orange St. in National City

-- At 1:30 p.m., Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Ave. in San Diego

-- At 2 p.m., Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial, 6905 La Jolla Scenic Drive S. in La Jolla

The ceremony in La Jolla will pay tribute to President Theodore Roosevelt with a special plaque presentation. Capt. Craig Clapperton, the commanding officer of the aircraft carrier named after Roosevelt, will be the featured speaker.

The "Big Stick" became the latest flattop to be home-ported in San Diego when it moved here in November.
