Weapons seized from Vista apartment, man arrested

SAN DIEGO - A man who allegedly threatened people at his Vista apartment complex with a billy club was arrested Wednesday night after deputies found several guns in his unit.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Clifften Peter Dominik Korsch had displayed a billy club and rifle several times over the past week to staff at the apartment complex located at 200 Grapevine Rd. He also told staff there was a gas leak at his unit.

At about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded and executed a search warrant at Korsch’s apartment. They found a billy club, .40-caliber Glock handgun, shotgun, assault rifle, hunting rifle, military vest and military helmet. There was also a 40MM military ordnance, which prompted a bomb squad callout, the sheriff’s department said. The ordnance was inert.

Korsch was taken into custody on three counts each of possession of a billy club, exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and one count each of exhibiting a firearm and possession of stolen property, all felonies.

Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s department at 858-565-5200.
