ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Dispatchers manning 911 lines hear calls of emergencies throughout the day, but authorities say one Florida man tried to use the operators as a delivery service.
On Sunday, police said Jarvis Sutton, 34, dialed 911 and requested that officers bring him three items: Kool-Aid, hamburgers and weed, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Sutton, of St. Petersburg, Florida, called 911 approximately 80 times on the day, the newspaper reported.
Sutton never received the Kool-Aid, burgers or weed, instead he was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail. As Sutton was being taken to jail, an officer wrote that he started chewing foam attached to the metal caging in the back of the police cruiser, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Sutton is facing charges of misusing the 911 system.
