A Halloween mask of accused mass murderer James Holmes that was for sale on eBay caused outrage across the country.

The mask of the alleged Colorado movie theater shooter and San Diego native was put on eBay for $500 by an anonymous seller.

The seller advertised the mask with the words, "Shock everyone you know!"

The post goes on to say:

"There is nothing more scary than crawling into the James Holmes' mind and wearing his face. His "soul penetrating eyes" and "The Joker" orange hair makes this mask the most disturbing object you will ever own. Imagine owning the mask of supposedly the most dangerous mass murderer in U.S. history."

The ad has since been removed from the website after it was viewed 1,100 times and no bids were placed.

A man who was shot in the leg and in the arm during the shooting told ABC News that the mask crossed the line.

"Are you kidding me?" said Josh Nolan. "That just took the cake right here. I'm too upset to think about it."
