SAN DIEGO — With so much talk of refugees in the news since Donald Trump signed an executive order banning individuals from seven predominantly Muslim nations from traveling to the United States, you may wonder how you can help those already here to succeed in their new environment.

San Diego Refugee Tutoring wants to help students of one City Heights school and their siblings with English and foundational math skills. These students have lived in San Diego for between one month to four years.

If you're interested in learning more about how you can become a volunteer tutor with San Diego Refugee Tutoring, our 10News reporter Jessica Chen visited a tutor and students of the program for a look at the work they're doing.
