Vigil held for 5-year-old Ramona girl

Mother accidentally ran over daughter Thursday

RAMONA - Hundreds gathered Sunday in a Ramona field for a solemn candlelight vigil to remember 5-year-old Bella Noble.

Bella was accidentally run over and killed by her mother Oct. 17.

Bella's grief-stricken father held back tears as he remembered his daughter.

In pictures set up at a table covered in candles, flowers, and balloons, it was clear that it was the girl’s smile that continued to light up the hearts of those gathered.

Bella's life was cut too short by an accident not far from the field where they gathered.

“[She was] only here for a brief time, but it was a brilliant, bright light that shined,” said Bella's father, William.

He gathered enough strength to be among his family, friends even strangers.

“I think it's the only thing holding me through is her love, you know?" said William Noble. "She's very special.”

On Thursday the kindergartener and her 42-year-old mother were at a friend’s home when Bella was struck by her mother's van while she was backing out of the driveway.

The California Highway Patrol said when her mother realized she may have struck her daughter, she pulled forward, running over Bella for a second time.

“Just like these candles…just beautiful," William Noble siad. "Beautiful Bella."

“They are all just special angel," he said, referring to the hundreds who came to pray for Bella and her family." "Really…and all the love that Bella shows came back from all these people. It’s really a healing thing.”

William said that he will miss watching his little girl strum the guitar and play her favorite game, Just Dance, on the Nintendo's Wii.

He reminded all parents to look in the eyes of their children and let them know how much they are loved.

“Really take time for your family. Really, it means a lot,” William Noble said. “You're all they have and they are all that you have.”

“Get your face out of that phone and look at your kids in the eye …and just be there for them," he said. "It means everything. It will change the world."
