One person was killed in a crash on state Route 76, near Singh Road, in Oceanside.
Oceanside police said the single-vehicle crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway.
According to police, the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle and veered off the highway at a high rate of speed. The driver, who was not identified, was ejected and died at the scene.
One lane on eastbound SR-76 in the immediate area was closed and a Sig Alert was issued due to the crash investigation.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
