Vacant house in Vista catches fire, collapses

VISTA, Calif. - A vacant house in Vista caught fire and collapsed Sunday.

The fire was reported about 9:15 a.m. near Sycamore Avenue and Watson Way, a North County fire dispatcher said.

Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, which had burned both the house and the brush surrounding it, the dispatcher said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and investigators are looking into the possibility of arson.

Officials say the fire had the potential to be a large one since it was near Sycamore Canyon.

No injuries were reported.
