WASHINGTON - The Obama administration is calling gun owners' groups, victims' organizations and video-game industry representatives to the White House to discuss potential policy proposals for curbing gun violence.

President Barack Obama has ordered an administration-wide task force to send him proposals by the end of January. The group, led by Vice President Joe Biden, was formed in response to the horrific massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.

A White House official says Biden will meet Wednesday with gun violence victims' groups and gun safety organizations. On Thursday, he meets with gun ownership groups and sportsmen advocates.

The official says Biden also will meet with entertainment and video-game industry representatives. The official was not authorized to discuss the meetings before they were publicly announced and spoke on condition of anonymity.
