19-year anniversary of OJ chase

On June 17, 1994, millions of TV viewers and hundreds on the streets of Los Angeles watched as former NFL star O.J. Simpson led police on a slow-speed chase in a white Ford Bronco.

The pursuit began after Simpson was named a suspect in the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

Instead of turning himself in to authorities, Simpson fled in the Bronco with friend Al Cowlings driving. TV networks broke into programming during the chase, with some NBC affiliates airing the pursuit while Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Finals aired on a smaller screen.

The chase ended at Simpson's home, where he was arrested.

After a lengthy trial that received worldwide attention, Simpson was acquitted of double murder.
