Vermont House passes aid-in-dying bill

The Vermont House has approved a measure that would allow doctors to provide lethal medication to terminally ill patients wanting to end their own lives.

If Gov. Peter Shumlin signs on, Vermont will join Oregon, Washington and Montana as states allowing physicians to provide deadly doses of medication to dying patients who seek it.

Shumlin is a strong supporter of the bill.
