DENVER - Northern Colorado residents announced they want to secede and form the 51st state.
Supporters of the secession say they want to send a message on issues ranging from gun control to water rights and oil and gas regulations. The group thinks the state is too divided on these issues.
Backers of the movement admit creating a new state would take a lot, including an act of Congress.
