Magnitude-5.8 earthquake hits Costa Rica

No immeidate reports of damages

MEXICO CITY - Seismologists say a magnitude-5.8 earthquake has shaken Costa Rica. There are no immediate reports of damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 6:19 a.m. local time or 8:19 a.m. (EST) and was centered eight miles north-northeast of the town of Nicoya. The epicenter was about 22 miles below the surface.
