PHOENIX - A bicycle that was set to be used in a 430-mile charity ride next month was stolen from its owner's home in Phoenix.
The Arizona Republic reports that the $4,000 Roubaix was stolen as its owner was preparing for a ride early Saturday and briefly left the bike leaning against a glass door while he went inside to turn off the lights and kiss his wife goodbye.
Bike owner Bob Boschee says his year-old bike was stolen within a matter of 60 seconds.
Boschee is one of more than 60 cyclists planning to participate in the Ride 430 Challenge to raise money for injured soldiers and their families.
He says he is still planning on participating in the ride with another bike.
