The Associated Press said its Twitter account was hacked Tuesday after a bogus tweet was sent out indicating that explosions had rocked the White House.
The Tweet, that later proved to be inaccurate, was sent at 10:07 a.m. and read, "Breaking: Two Explosions at the White House and Barack Obama is injured."
Soon after, the a tweet from the AP Stylebook advised that there was a correction, saying, "The official @AP account has been hacked! No explosions at the White House, Barack Obama not injured."
Minutes later, the AP tweeted, "All: The main @AP Twitter account has been hacked, The tweets coming out of there are false. We are working to correct the problem."
As of 10:15 a.m., the main AP Twitter account has been suspended.
