Two more school break-ins, 11 detained

SAN DIEGO - Police detained 11 people after responding to two possible break-ins overnight Wednesday at Ibarra Elementary School and Crawford High School in the Mid-City area of San Diego.

At about 2 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to alarms at both Ibarra Elementary School on Orange Avenue and Crawford High School on Colts Way. The schools are less than one-mile apart.

According to San Diego police, at the Ibarra campus, officers spotted several people running from a building. Nine juveniles and two adults were detained.

The adults were cited for trespassing. The children were turned over to their parents. They will have to appear in San Diego Juvenile Court. Police were investigating if anything was stolen.  

The circumstances at Crawford High School were not confirmed.

On Tuesday night, officers found school laptops during a traffic stop in City Heights. Overnight Monday, two San Carlos area schools were broken into. Two juveniles and three adults were arrested, accused of stealing 37 iPads from Patrick Henry High School.
